Saturday, May 21, 2011 camp.Anthony Wong "expected camp to be better." So true. I just had my 11 hour recovery sleep, and reading winnies post, I kinda felt like my own recount as well. I mean, in a couple of years time when we're out of highschool, you never know, it might be fun to refresh a memory like this. Bewarned, it's probably going to be longer than winnies. - I woke up late. SURPRISE. Got to school at around 7:40 with the heaviest feeling that i've forgotten something. One of them were my earphones :( Sefton somewhat hired cheap buses, and when me, lynda and christine sat ourselves at the very back, we spent the 3hrs drive in utter regret. STUPID VIBRATING CHAIR!!! We arrived at around 12? There was this uluru building at the front from which I suddenly felt nostalgic realizing I've been here in year 3/4. Our cabins were as small as we had imagined. We sat around our smoky to-be campfire and listened to introductions before we headed to our first activities. Group 4 had vertical challenge. Watching lynda, jennifer and kim, esp. kim do almost made me believe it was hard. IT WAS EASY AS. Tiring maybe, but that's it. Hehe. I think lunch was after that - we went to the uluru building which unsuspectingly was our dining lounge. FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD. The burger wasn't that bad. Or I was just hungry. But really, burger-related things were the only nice meals. After lunch we resumed activities and went to alpine rescue. Besides a certain someone being a bossy jackass in my team, it was fun. OMG I can't remember what we did after that...dinner? Mashed potatos was nice <3 Everything else was OMGOMG then we had commando night :D coolest activity ever. I volunteered to be a hostage with kim, and the terrorists aka. teachers took us to this open-air house thingy where we're meant to remain in till we get saved. This is when I started to lose my voice noticeably cus we spent the hour just screaming and singing. What killed it was when I had to go pee. I was like literally praying for one of the teams to come and save us but no, after tinam and duong escaped, NOONE made it out. I had the worst time sleeping that night. Both my top and bottom beds were squeaky so in the end I survived the painful night on the floor. Hit my head on kims suitcase like 5 times, had to go bathroom 2 times, and got woken up 3 times thanks to the cold cold FREEZING floor. Oh and also the stupid security guards had their hair tails stepped on or something - out of nowhere they just started yelling and swearing. Like wtf man IS IT EVEN ALLOWED? We're only freakin teenagers and it's not like anyone was doing drugs, they didn't need to be such assholes. Ugh. So in the end I had a total of 2 hours sleep; you can imagine how much of a walking zombie i was the next day. Breakky was gross. That's all im gonna say. We had highropes first, and neither kim nor i felt well enough to try. Crossroads after - SEX ED BRUH - which was actually so boring I slept through half of it, waking up when he was explaining STI's. He showed us how to put on a condom with a rubber dick BAHAHAH no it wasn't funny but lynda's face was. She had this grossed-out wtf-ing open-mouthed and overall traumatized expression - it was PRICELESS. Lunch was alright. Bread with cheese, ham and lettus is by all means better than any cooked meals they provide. The giant swing looked higher than I remembered it, and ms holt scared me by saying she puked the last time she tried. It was embarassing cus everyone else went on the 3-2-1 count, even kim, but when it was my turn i took like 5 minutes to make myself pull the string. And when i did, i realised that even with a dead voice, i can still scream when i had to. THEN WE WENT TO BE BEACH :D Either it was too remote for frequent users or cleared prior to our visit. But yeah, thanks to a couple of people who i had to scream at [they were about to ruin my work of art!!!], my dying voice died even more. :( For dinner we sat at what they called 'the deck' and practically ate in the dark. BBQ... mmmm.... On the way to the movie house(?), james and matthew were doing some reminiscing about shihai and their old group and matthews goes "I miss the old days." Like WOW. I didn't know guys like them could be so cheesy at times, ahahaha. Movie night was actually awesome. We watched "Grown ups" which was as funny the first time as it was the second. Lynda laughed so hard she made the chair/s shake with her LOL. Me, I had to stop myself laughing cus my throat really hurt. :( THAT NIGHT was as bad as the first. Everyone seemed to be less tired and were still gossiping at 2 freaking AM. Like HE~LO, SOME PEOPLE NEED TO SLEEP. Then to boost the chat up even more, the mentally-issued security guards were still yelling out threats. [Shaving cream??? Guys these days.] 3 hours sleep, but at least i had a bed this time. KYAKING!!! It was the most tiring thing ive done in ages. Me and kim couldn't go forward and we kept running into bushes/branches. Our instructor didn't take any pity on us though, and i think i whacked kim multiple times with my paddle, hehe... We didn't do much afterward, just waited till 12 for our bus. THEY HAD BETTER BUSES THIS TIME. Thankfully winnie and her awesome music made the 3hr drive less draggy and boring. I walked home with Ben and my sister, and couldn't be more happy when I got back. But my sister was being an irritable bitch, she still is right now, so that pissed me off along with the fact my voice died completely and i couldn't yell at her - and still can't. ASDFDFGKGHKTHLHHJKL. I HATE BEING SICK. ;___; I think that's it? Funny how as I recall it now, it seems that everytime there was a little fun, something happens and just ruins it. Overall, it was a very ... memorable trip. Yeah, the most optimistic i can be. Labels: camp |
